Career and Life Success

The word career is derived from the Latin and Greek words for "path". Success means different things to different people. For some, material or economic security is the definition for success. For others, it is the setting and achieving of specific goals in a particular occupation. In my experience, if I can help a person identify their talents, capacities, and interests and bring the three together, then we can most likely identify occupations in which you will have the best chance of achieving success.

The winningest coaches always say fundamental skills, practice, hard work, a thirst to be the best, and luck, all combine to determine success. To that I would add, a passion for what you do, contributes to both success and the enjoyment of one's work. Today, with the speed of information technologies, and the accelerating rate of change in the workplace, developing an orientation towards life long learning, knowledge of emerging trends, and a commitment to continuous growth is also essential to achieving career success.
