Dr. Michael Komie is a licensed clinical psychologist, in private practice for seventeen years and is an Associate Professor in clinical psychology, training doctoral level psychologists for the past sixteen years. He was an Attending Psychologist at Michael Reese Hospital from 1991-2000. His earned doctorate and master’s degrees are from Northwestern University, where he wrote his doctoral dissertation on the topic of career and work problems faced by professional, managerial and technical workers. He is an advanced candidate in psychoanalysis. Dr. Komie’s long standing interests include career counseling, psychotherapy, sexuality issues, adult life transitions, complex work issues, and illness/disability issues. He has made numerous presentations and taught or been a guest faculty at a number of institutions including the Illinois Institute of Technology, Northwestern University Medical School-Programs in Physical Therapy, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has also served on committees and consulted in an advisory capacity to a number of organizations in the greater metropolitan Chicago area. |
